Brussels, 29 January 2025 – Fedima, the Federation of European Manufacturers and Suppliers of Ingredients to the Bakery, Confectionary and Patisserie Industries, is proud to unveil its Manifesto for the 2024-2029 EU Policy Cycle.
The document puts forward seven key recommendations for EU legislators to follow to ensure that the European bakery sector is supported in its sustainable growth, innovation and competitiveness.
To support Europe’s bakery, confectionery and patisserie sector and the entire bread and pastry value chain, Fedima has identified seven key policy priorities, reflecting the industry’s most pressing needs:
- A Positive Regulatory Framework for Innovation and Growth.
- Recognising the Essential Role of Bread and Pastry in European Diets and Traditions.
- Recognising the Unique Characteristics of the B2B Sector.
- Commitment to Science-Based Regulations.
- Harmonisation and Legal Certainty for a Functioning Internal Market.
- Promoting Sustainability Through Clear and Harmonised Legislation.
- Acknowledging the Impact of Climate Change on Raw Materials and Food Safety.
